Default WHat is the weather like in NZ at this time of year?

I want to come over from the UK for 2-3 weeks, and visit both islands - what
sort of weather can I expect?

NZ has just had a pretty good winter storm resulting in snow
throughout a lot of the country.

Remember it is nearly 2000Km from top to bottom - the far north is likely to
be around 15 max while down south today several towns barely made 4 - but 10
is about average. This week has been unusual - the lowest air pressure for
40-50 years according to some forecasters. The east coast is usually quite
dry (and Auckland is not all NZ).

Vicki (in cold but dry Christchurch)
