Couple of questions:
1. While much accomodation is listed, is there any Youth Hostels on
Norfolk Island? And if not, how much on average can one expect to pay
in a guesthouse/B&B per night?
2. Are there any regular boat services to Noumea?
Cheers!

Check the web sites, as they have specials running all the time. Just
do a search in Google for Norfolk Island. Package prices are much
better than booking airfare/accommodaiton/car hire. I don't remember
seeing a youth hostel when we were there in December, but there is
lots of low price accommodation.

Since there is no wharf on Norfolk Island, the answer is no. Shipping
lines have to use long boats to transfer goods from the boat to the
pier, and they only come every six weeks I believe.

Norfolk Island...where many of the youths enjoy marijuana (bet the
tourist guides didn't mention that!), speeding and intimidating
tourists and anyone else who dares to get in their way on the roads.
Make sure you are a heavy sleeper so you won't be woken up by them
doing burnouts in the middle of the night (Police to the rescue?
Forgetaboutit!).
