hi,
am going to be in sydney for new years eve and was hoping someone could give
us some advice on what to do. All I know at the mo is there are fireworks
from the bridge, so first question is where is a good place to watch them?
On the other hand, is
it best to go into central sydney at all or is it like trafalgar square (10
million people and nowhere to get a drink). Is it better to do something
near one of the
beaches? What is public transport like out of Sydney after midnight on new
year eve?
If we get a room out of the centre can we get back again?
How about clubbing? Any good all night new years eve clubbing nights (more
dance orientated, not cheesy)
thanks for any advise, am looking forward to a great night!

Total fires bans marred last year's event. It was postponed and still did
not happen. There should be plenty of excess fireworks for this year!
There are MANY locations to see the display, but you need to get in early
and claim your spot. There are ferry trips which can be booked, but they are
expensive.
The city still remains accessable on foot and the underground trains run
right through the night [on this night only!] If the waether is kind, it
remains a great street party, particularly in Darling Harbour area and The
Rocks. I am not in the club scene, but there will be plenty to choose from.
Cheers,
