Hi,
We are planning to visit Sydney in August and I would very much appreciate
any advice on reasonable accommodations which are accessible from the Rocks
area. We will not be using a rental car and therefore will have to rely on
taxis or public transportation.
Thank you for your help.

Not sure what you determine to be reasonable. If you require access to The
Rocks, it is a short walk from Circular Quay where ferries and buses
terminate and most suburban trains stop at that station.

If you look at
http://www.au.lastminute.com/lmn/pso...TID=91966&POSI
TION=783
you will find lots of places under $150.00. These prices are considerably
lower than if you booked in advance.
You might be better to wait until just before you depart and book something
here.
