Hi folks - hoping someone can help me. My husband, daughter and I are
planning a vacation somewhere on the gold coast this year. What is the
best time to go to get the cheapest airfares and accomodations? It
looks like Feb/March from what I can tell. We are looking for an
apartment for 3 weeks and I want absolute beach front and of course,
want it as cheaply as possible. Any recommendations?? I am really
open to dates - but will be staying for 3 weeks.

February/March is definitely cheaper than school holidays xmas time etc
however, it may have changed but when I was researching a few years ago
(1999) the best deals were to be had in May as some places were offering
accommodation at that time for $250 aud per week for a family our size which
is the same size as your family (but not on the beach which wasn't a
requirement of ours).

Check out http://www.goldcoasthotelfinder.com/
You can quickly see the peak times and cheaper hotels... you may need to
check back here or with the hotel if it is on the beach front. Last time I
was there was May, which was a really nice climate and not too busy.
Good luck

i just got back and even though this property is not on the beach you should
check out Surf Parade Resort they have a website, it was really really
nice - spa in every room, tennis court HUGE pool etc, and we stayed 5 nights
for $320 which i thought was amazing!
