Default Campervans in NZ

I am planning on hiring a camper van from Christchurch for 14 days. At the
moment, the vans on offer are Mitsibushi 3.3L diesels OR 2.2L turbo diesel
Merc.

Both are 5/6 berth.

Does anyone have any experience/recommendations on these vehicles and the
whole campervan thing!!

Thanks Mike

My wife and I took a 3 week Campervan trip in NZ in April.
We loved it! Renter a 4-Berth Merc. It drove like a charm.

There are Camper sites everywhere, we never had trouble finding
a place to park. Usually cost us $20-24 NZ for 1 night with power.

Unless you need the space, I would not recommend a larger camper as
some of the turns in the roads (even the major ones) are quite tight.

Roads are in great condition, drivers are friendly, quickly got used
to the custom of pulling over to let others pass.

be glad to share more with you.

Hi,

Bruce, thanks for the advice. However, I booked a Mitsubishi 6 Berth last
week for a very good price from a recommended rental place so hopefully I
will be OK. The MErc was my first choice, but the price and availabilty let
me down!

We are also going for 3 weeks, 2 weeks campervaning in the South and 1 week
hire car/hotel in the North. Do you have any tips, must see's, & camp sites
which you think I should go to?

Thanks again,

Mike
