Broken Hill to Melbourne
Can someone please tell me how difficult it is to make the trip from
Broken Hill to Melbourne (or the reverse) via public transportation?
I assume the trip is made part way by bus and partway by train?
About how long would this take and is their daily service in August?
Thanks,
Mike

I think bus via Dubbo would be the best option, but it depends on your day
of travel. See http://www.greyhound.com.au/ for full details.

All or most of the way by bus - they don't have a website, but there
is a local bus service from Broken Hill to Mildura, operates three
times weekly from memory. Details available at the Broken Hill coach
terminal.
From Mildura there is a daily overnight bus to Melbourne or a daylight
bus to Bendigo with a train for the last short hop into Melbourne.
Broken Hill to Mildura would take about 7 hours, and about 9 hours
from Mildura to Melbourne.
