Bathurst advice needed

Bathurst advice needed
I'm planning as trip over to Assie to see the V8 super cars at Bathurst in
October as well a trip up the coast to Brisbane etc.
I need some advice on whether there are camping grounds in or near
Bathurst,or whether I can stay with Friends in Sydney and travel back and
forth by Train or Bus etc.
After the V8's I am planning to travel up the coast to Brisbane stopping off
at a few camping grounds along the way.
Travel advice would be much apprieated. Thanks.

Everybody camps on the mountain
or in the pubs around the mountain
or farms around the mountain, look for a b&b for the race on a farm along
conrod straight
(and stays drunk for days)
random breath checks
random breast checks
funny as hell in pre-race watching the warmup laps, race cars passing the
last tractors returning home before they close the roads for the race

A course in self defence would be of great help to you !

One wanders why you can't GOOGLE and do it your self.
I live in Sydney and have never ventured to the Bathurst fights.
Staying with friends in Sydney and commuting will take up to much time
