Australia is the 6th largest country in the world (larger than all of
Western Europe combined) and has an extremely wide variety of climates.

The north is tropical, and hot all year round. The south gets cold enough in
winter (June July August) to have ski resorts. The middle bit is a desert.
The north eastern parts get upwards of 120" of rain per year.

Where are you going? What do you want to do?

Once you manage to acclimitise to the Australian Metric Time system
would be a good time. For further information about Metric Time, see
