Default Weather!

Hi All,

We are off to Kenya next Friday (25th) and can't wait, but I have been looking at the weather forecasts for the region for the last couple of weeks and it has been rain and thunderstorms all the way!

Is this usual for this time of year as it is not what we were expecting!!!

October and November are the "short rains" months, so yes, this is not
unusual for Kenya for this time of year. You will find that it usually
does not rain all day. Thunderstorms often built up and start in the
afternoon.

And although it's usually dry for some hours each day, depending on where
you're heading, you could find that your game drives are restricted because
a lot of the tracks are unpassable. Even one sudden unexpected afternoon
shower (about four hours long) in July had this effect in the Mara for the
following morning.

However, experienced drivers will know where they *can* go and will take you
there.
