Hi=20

I am trying to book a flight from JNB to NBO (johanessburg to nairobi) =
from the U.S for a friend. I am wondering if anyone has dealt with =
consolidators in the U.S who specialize in Africa air that can provide =
decent rates on this route. I tried to use www.airlineconsolidator.com =
and they only sell published fares between these two cities and right =
now that is around $685 RT even though the initial fare basis is shown =
as 431RT$ for travel in mid june.

Thanks for your help!
Archana

Default Re: Purchasing SA air tix outside of Africa

Lowest fares between Nairobi & Johannesburg are
on British Airways right now. This is service contracted
out to Air Kenya/Regional Air, based in Nairobi.
BA commonly uses contract carriers; in South Africa
and Zimbabwe, BA flights are operated by Comair.
We use Air Kenya & Regional Air extensively in
Kenya and Tanzania, and recommend them without
hesitation. Good people, good airline.

I checked a sample mid-June one-way flight for you:

16 June British Airways
BA 8672 Â JNB/NBO dep 14:15 arr 19:30
Non-stop 732 4h15min Economy Restricted
Fare Type Fare  Tax  South African Rands
Public  2210.00 + 257.00 x 1 Adult = 2467.00
Total fare = 2467.00Â

In USD, this is about $312 - $ 315 (today) based on
the current rate of exchange. Any travel agent can
sell it to you. If you want to pay for it here and
have it picked up in JNB, there would probably be
an additional charge.
