Hi, I've got an extraordinary offer to Mauritius in December 2003.
But should I go for it? The "When to go" section i Lonely Planet is a bit
blury about weather in December. I'm travelling with my wife and my daughter
born Dec 2002.
Any handy information is welcome.
Regards,
Petter

December is one of the hottest months in Mauritius. You are certain to get a
lot of sun. The very best tourist month is considered by many to be October
due to the lower temperatures and possibly less tourists. However, I have
visited in both months and December will be fine, but very hot. Take lots
of sunscreen (factor 20+)
The cyclone (hurricane) season is usualy later in January/February.
Try the web site www.mauritius.net for some further information.

Will your daughter be OK in the heat, at such a young age...?
Particularly if she's used to Norway temperatures?

Thanks for the concern, Aaron.
I believe she'll be fine. She enjoyed Lanzarote's 25-30 C a week ago. And as
fas as I know; there are children living in warm areas every day?
My daughter is also "used to" lying in a very warm bag, as she has been
doing the whole winter when being in Norway. I look forward to the summer
where she can be outside naked in 20+ C.
I'm more afraid of the rain, but we'll go for it. We have planned some days
at Reunion aswell to do some short hikes in the mountain (I'll carry little
Angelica).
