Hi.
Can anyone comment on the recent conditions of crossing the Kenyan border
from Ethiopia? Also, typically how long would it take to venture to a
departure point for hiking up portions of Kilimanjaro from the
ethiopia/kenya border region by bus?
Any comments are appreciated!
Thanks, bjc

I have no idea what the recent conditions are, but I can give you an
overview that may help your planning :
From the Ethiopian/Kenyan border town of Moyale, it's one day to Marsabit,
another day to Isiolo (both days good dust piste, a few broken bridges),
and then a few hours of tar road to Nairobi (but budget a day for that
too). Then it is a day (tar also) to Moshi or Arusha incuding the border
crossing.
The Isiolo-Nairobi-Moshi/Arusha bit is served by regular buses, but north
of Isiolo you'll probably end up on top of a truck.
