Default Egypt next week

How is anti-US and anti-British feeling in Egypt at the moment? I'm
going to Luxor next week and just wondering what the reception will be
like if the UK declares war on Iraq before then.

Hi
I've been to Egypt three weeks ago, and as far as I've seen you shouldn't
worry too much about the anti-US and anti-british feeling. Depends on how
you plan to visit Egypt.
If you will use an organized tour, then absolutely no worry at all.
If you go on your own, just pay little attention on what you say and how you
behave... but I've seen so many English and American in Luxor, Aswan,
Cairo... that I think you shouldn't worry.

Also consider that police is absolutely EVERYWHERE.

Have a good trip and visit Philae temple... it's absolutely gorgeous.

Ciao from Rome

I was also thinking about the same, planning to go there in March -
exactly the same time as those mad warmongers plan to start their
private war.

Had a look at State Department travle advice. NO sign of any travel
warnings for Egypt. I'm a little worried, but plan to go anyways. I just
hope they dont't stab me in the back, thinking I'm american.

I would not worry about it, I went on a tour to Egypt 3 weeks after Sep.11
Best tour of my life , only 11 people in the group (normally 26-30) no
lineups , and everyone was trying to serve the remaining tourists as best as
could. They had more security then North America at that time.

I think there is quite a difference here. Why would Egyptians attack
tourists after the WTC crash?

It is totally different if US attacks Arabs in the Middle East without
any UN sanctions!

However, I plan to go anyway.
