When I first heard this on TV I honestly thought it was a joke ,but sadly it's not.

The Director of SIED (Portuguese Secret Service) Jorge Silva Carvalho has been charged with various criminal offences !

He was "head hunted" by a private Company named as Ongoing on a salary of +/- 40.000€'s per month & before & after he left SIED he used his contacts in side the Secret Service to supply info on persons/companies who are in competition with Ongoing with the object of discrediting them

Personally this is just bloody astonishing & shows just how corrupt or stupid which ever you wish a good many people in Public Office are here !

isnt that what happens all the time when MP's, Snr Civil Servants, not so Snr Civil Servants and even the rep on the road do on a daily basis. They retain information on their current employer, the contracts they are involved in etc etc., even other members of staff to poach when the time is right. It even happens in football - although I can never understand why.

But will add in his position as Chief off SIED he had passing across his desk sensitive info from NATO + info relevant to Afghanistan where there where/are PT Troops unless there been pulled out ?

In any other country a person in his position would have been very very carefully vetted.
Obviously he's slipped thru & this is being full coverage in most of the PT Press as Miguel Relvas a MP & part of the present Gov has now come into the frame.

Duarte Lima who is a Ex Parliamentary Leader of the PSD & is also a Advogado has just been released yesterday after 6 months off Preventive Detention & has been placed under house arrest with a ankle bracelet.

Here he has been charged with several offences to do with a swindle he was involed with which cost BPN Bank 45.000.000 €'s

In Brazil he is wanted on a Murder Charge & a Interpol Arrest Warrent has been issued
A Client of his a Sra Rosalina Ribeiro was "executed" the Brazilian Police said by the side of a country road & the Car he had hired was seen by serveral traffic camaras in the same area at the same time this deed was carried out.
5.200.000€'s it was stated is missing from her Bank Accounts.

He is due in Brazil towards the end of this month to be questioned.

In the UK they went ape s--t over a MP claiming £14.000 for a Duck House

Well I got this slightly wrong ,yesterday morning a TV Reporter was outside the block he lives in with a camera showing the windows open of his "flat"
waiting for him to appear & then this morning exactly the same but it now seems he's still banged up.
His Advogado has objected to the fact that the terms & conditions of his release included a ankle bracelet & states he is not a "flight risk"

Who's kidding who, he has million's of €'s stashed away & he will be a good boy & give his word that he wont have it on his toes!

To get out of Preventive Detention he has given the Police & Rosário Teixera the Magistrate in charge of this case a massive amount of info on a very big "Money Washing" set up which was run by Michel Canals who is a EX Executive Manager off UBS Bank Swizerland.

Canals & 3 others where arrested on Friday by the Police in a 5 star Hotel in Porto where they where staying due to taking a Golf Holiday here
Lima info included lot off the names off persons who have used this scheme & the persons he has identified cover a broard spectrum off very well know Business & Political Personalities !

Dias Loureiro Ex PSD Minister who name came into the frame early during the investigation of BPN Banks collapse

Oliveira E Costa Ex Sectary of State for the PSD & Ex CEO off BPN Bank who is already facing charges due to the collapse of the Bank

Àlvaro Sobrinho the CEO off BES Bank in Angola who has already been charge for money washing & has had 6 very expensive Properties in Portugal "arrested" by the PT judicial system as he has so far failed the explain where the money came from to buy them

The Freeport Case is in full flood at the present & yesterday under oath one of the old Directors a Mr Alan Perkins stated that between July 2005 & Dec 2006 -£150.000 = 200-220 Thousand €'s where channeled thru Charles Smith Bank Account's in amount of 5.000€'s to a person know by the code name in e-mails sent as "Pinóquio"

Perkins also stated that 3 other Directors where fully aware of what was taking place & would testify if required.

Smith was extremely concerned about this as if the Finanças picked it up he would personally be liable for large Tax Demand.

The money was passed on by Smith to 2 others known by the codes names in e-mails sent as
"Gordo" "Bernado" who it was stated where cousins of "Pinóquio" which was the code name given for the person who was Min of Ambient at the time planning consent was given none other than Sr Socrates!

Of course Socrates Advogado has said it's a pack of lies & Socrates intends to sue the lot for defaming his good name

Last year on 06.09.2011. the PT press broke a story about Socrates families money which is stashed away in a Off Shore Account in the Cayman Islands.
The holders of this account are his Uncle - Aunt & 2 Cousins which links into thread above
It's only 383.000.000€'s

But the interesting fact is the info was supplied by a Mário Machado who is the Leader off the Portuguese Nazi Party & was in Jail at the time the info was passed to the Authorities by his Advogado

Freeport & Socrates is getting really interesting ,back in the early days off the PJ inquiries into this, Socrates gave them a statement in which he denied ever ever having a meeting with Sr.Pedro off Pedro & Smith who are the 2 defendants in this Case.

On wednesday the 6th the Defense called a hostile witness to the stand who after some pressure admitted in court that Socrates had a meeting with Pedro back in 2002 & named 2 others who where connected to the PT Gov who where also present.
I should imagine these 2 will now be called to testify & the s--- will hit the )"* & my favorite EX PM just could

p.s. During the UK's Police inquiries into this case ,they sent Socrates a list of 27 questions they wanted answers for ,needless to say they never got any at all out of him!

Reported in PT press last week :- Socrates has now declared his 2011 income to the Finanças was 44.000.€'s
As he has never declared any savings OR any other income the Press are wondering how he can mantain his life style in Paris costing reportedly 15.000€s per month
