Default The Wind.... When does it stop???

As a keen cyclist always combine my trips out here with some cycling. The wind this year, don't remember it so bad, has been horrendous. Yes a headwind will slow you down considerably but the cross winds are downright dangerous on exposed roads.

Are the winds exceptional this year or have I not noticed them as much in the past?

I can only speak for my area but here the winds are much worse than normal & my guess is it's due to so many trees (that used to work as wind breaks) being felled after the firestorm.

In a nutshell YES..The whole weather pattern for this part of the Atlantic and on into parts of the Med is exceptional this year..All due to the position of the Gulf stream .The one that is sending crazy hot weather up to the UK and even Finland. The theory is its due to the sunspot activity of last year. If you ever listen to Brian Cox ,he reported that it was exceptional ,usually portends severe shifts in weather patterns . And strong movement in the gulf stream

Doesn't seem at all unusual wind-wise this year where I am, about 40km from the coast at Viana do Castelo.
