Default wind /weather

This is my first summer in central Portugal and I must say Im disappointed in the weather, particularly in the wind. I was hoping to swim regularly in Castelo do Bode but it is too cold to take my shirt off. Is this weather / wind normal at this time of year?

It's a lot cooler all over the country this year. And the wind is really cold too. Not normal.

It is a very cold wind! I would suggest a 'spring' wet suit for swimming. It makes a huge difference to how the water feels.

Portuguese weather is so variable from place to place. Whilst we have had some cold winds occasionally here in the East Algarve, we have had mostly cloudless skies throughout June and the average maximum daily temperature was 31 degrees C. We reached 36 degrees C on 10 June and this followed 3 days at 35 degrees. I would say that we have had normal June weather where we live and I am looking forward to the heat in July and August when we struggle to keep the pool down to 30 degrees.

Personally I've found it much cooler but then march/April were much milder and less rain so I'm happy with the offset... For now!
