Re: Where is warmer

This is why I prefer the North west. Much cooler than you guys down South east, west or wherever. A temp of 40 C will keep you indoors.
The cool sea air at Viana do Castelo is just great during summer.

Yes Steve01 we all do it ! why ? coz we are British or Scottish hahahahaha
Based on our local friends, the Portuguese talk about the weather just as much as the British...

The locals where i live do too, albeit the only word for all of the summer is hot - caloro
They also ask about England, some of them look really hurt when i say i don't know !

We choose the west coast for the weather; because it's not too hot! Been there, done that. I like to get some work done outside.
But the steady cool Atlantic breeze can be deceptive; the sun is still incredibly powerful in summer.

Re: Where is warmer

Im 40 minutes east of Porto and it was good to get to the Algarve for the breeze for a holiday! Point being... some of you would be shocked at how hot inland north gets(from mid June to mid July we had constant 37-43ºc!!)

Far cooler in winter though here, no doubt Algarve has the best all rounder weather.... or would it be Maderia or Azores?!
