Urgently looking for land to start community/rehab centre
 

Hi

I work for a recovery community/rehab centre in Thailand called New Life Foundation. We have been working towards expanding to Portugal for the last year, and already spent a huge amount of time and money, found land, had plans drawn up, got investors etc.

Unfortunately the beautiful land we found in Serra De Estrella was badly damaged in the fires, and partly because its lost its beauty but also because of fire safety we are considering other options. We are in a hurry due to investors we need to keep on board and financial reasons.

We are considering now that somewhere outside a national park will be a lot less hassle for building etc, and also have better access than the current place which is very bad. We still are looking for a beautiful plot but want to balance it with things being easier practically.

We would love to be closer to Porto, as the current place is 2 hours drive. Somewhere only an hour away at most would be ideal. Also going slightly further north would hopefully mean being safer from fires. So in districts like viseu, porto, aveiro, vila real and braga. Anything considered

The director from here is flying in a couple of weeks to see a few places.

If anyone knows of anything available, or could point me in the direction of good websites to look, Id really appreciate it!

This is a lifelong project so we want to find the right land

Have you contacted organisations in Portugal who offer a similar service.
They will be able I am sure to help you overcome any planning rules and bearicracy.

We have already gone a long way into the bureaucracy and have a laywer in portugal and the architect knows most of it. But just being on national park land comes with restrictions, in most countries. Thats only part of it though, as the land is not in a good state currently, so we want to consider other options
