UK EHICS - visitors to PT and EU
From "Brits in Portugal" Facebook (they have direct links with the British Embassy in Portugal
<If you have friends or family living in the UK, who plan on visiting Portugal, they can continue to use their UK-issued European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). The agreement reached between the UK and the EU means that UK residents can continue to access necessary care when visiting an EU country, as before.
Current EHICs remain valid until the expiry date on the card, so visitors to Portugal don't need to replace their card immediately. Once it expires, they can apply for a replacement card, now called the Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC).
