Tavira long term accommodation
Hello, my partner and I are relocating from Scotland and are looking for a long term let in the Tavira area so that we can get a residency permit started. We aim to purchase in the future but just need to get settled first and all the paperwork sorted before we dig further into a final location. Do any members have suggestions of properties/companies that might be worth investigating? Most of what we are finding online seems to cover up to May and then again after September which leaves us with a gap that might prove difficult in securing a residency permit.
Many thanks.
Ger.

I am not sure of what residency permit are you asking for? Camara dont issue them, only SEF.
My guess is that you are actual asking for certificate of residence for EU nationals.
Check first with Camara what paperwork they require, as some dont need any proof of address.
From some previous post, simple bill with address was sufficient.

There is a company in Tavira called smartavillas.com. Used them a few years ago( (just during winter months)before we bought ourselves. They might know if there is anyone who might be willing to rent out for the longer term. Maybe not but you could give them try. English company and have been going for a number of years

Worthwhile looking on FaceBook page "Anything and Everything Tavira and Surrounding Area. Often have rentals, today one by Elite Property Management in Cabanas is just an example.
The gap is because summer rents are much higher as demand is higher so people go looking for holiday lets - week at a time

Thanks EU.flag, you are quite correct, I’m still getting the wording wrong. Thank you for the ‘exact’ form I was looking for, I couldn’t see it on their site, now very happy I have at least this one thing to get started when we arrive. I’ve read many times online that POA was essential so a long term rental would cover that and also give us time to settle into a new life over the summer. Thanks again. 👍

You could also try Jacaranda Holidays. We had a 4 month Winter rental through them; they might have someone on the books who is willing to do a Winter/Spring rental.

Thanks Shanorne, just checked and the Jacaranda Holidays website is dead and their last facebook post was almost a year ago, perhaps no longer trading.
Thanks anyway.

Oh dear. Sorry to hear that. It was 3 years ago that we used them and they were quite good.

Sometimes, regualr estate agents know if one of their properties has been on the books for a while whether the clients would be willing to consider a non-holiday let while waiting to sell.
