Default Swimming in a Cisterna

We are currently trying to locate a suitable house near Tomar. We have found one that might fit, but instead of a swimming pool it has a large cisterna, which for the moment I shall assume has been built with permissions, and has been there for some time (ie it is not newly built). That being the case, is there anything to stop me adding pool filtration and pumps, etc, to make it more useful as a swimming pool?

Make sure you don't drown! no shallow end! I'd stack some breeze blocks at one end.
