Step in right direction
PT law change to tax foreigners at only 20% of local earnings, and ignore all else outside PT borders....not bad.
http://algarvedailynews.com/news/728...ich-foreigners Finally penny has dropped, that only the poor, old, sick, foreign pre-taxed Pensioners are arriving, adding huge burden to the state, yet not creating wealth nor particularly bringing sustainable purchasing power. Just need to lower ridiculous taxes on luxury motors.....and they might attract wealthy and wealth creators. BA |

Re: Step in right direction
I'm lucky -
my corner of Portugal doesn't have big mouthed ranting mis-informed lunatics. and to think i already hate Tavira |
Re: Step in right direction
You should try Marbella its full of Brit gob-shites driving around in cheap luxury motors - lovely place -sounds like your kind of heaven
How about legalising drugs, tax free huge screen tvs and massive discounts on giant gold chains, free tattoo's for all - would that be your Utopian dream for Portugal |

Bad news unless you're so stupid you didn't realise - tax is still due in whichever country you earned the money. Tavira must be a hell of a place - the poor, old, sick, foreign pre-taxed . Pensioners in my area all seem to drive luxury cars and live in big villas, spending copiously in local bars, restaurants, shops, local tradesmen etc and coincidentially creating huge amounts of local wealth. Huge burden for the state - for pensioners or the seriously ill your original country of residence pays for health treatment, you choose to pay a top up if you think its appropriate - no burden at all for the state. Sadly the only really poor people here (and i'm sure there are a few exceptions) are the Portuguese - Perhaps you'd like to ask them all to leave. No shortage of luxury cars wherever i go in Portugal - maybe 'Big Ant' you're the only one who can't afford one, its either that or an obvious case of' penis envy'. What idiots like you don't realise is that the whole of the Portuguese car industry relies on the current car values - make a specific law to suite 'Big Ant' and the whole industry collapses, no dealers, no garages. You also don't realise that here a car is an asset - unlike the UK(buy cheaper and watch its value plummit) - here you buy at a higher price and its value is retained for longer - win some lose some. The truely wealthy couldn't care less if a Porche is 100k or 150k doesn't make any difference to them, just wanabees like you |

Why don't you take big ant with you when you go However, to return to the OPs point, what tax reform do you consider is more appropriate to your lifestyle? Perhaps you could advise Senhor Peter Rabbit. Lower tax on smugness? |
Re: Step in right direction
just maybe i'm a poor, old, sick, foreign pre-taxed Pensioner, adding huge burden to the state, yet not creating wealth nor particularly bringing sustainable purchasing power.
Or maybe i just don't appreciate ill-informed windbags like 'big ant'. |
