Stamping Passports
I have been hearing a bit of chatter that residents are having their passports stamped when returning to Portugal from the UK despite having proof of residence.
Has anyone experienced this? And what, if any, are the implications for residents having their passports stamped when reentering Portugal?

This has been discussed in detail here and in Spain/France forum section.
Passport shouldnt be stamped and its up to you to present yourself as resident. If stamp is given, protest and demand its canceled on spot.
No implications if your trips are always to/from PT.
But you can be suspected as overstayer in some situations. Example, you fly to Faro from London and get spamp. Then after 4 months of stay, you decide to visit Malaga, so you fly from Faro to Malaga.
All fine so far. But then after your stay in Malaga, you decide to fly from Malaga to London. ES immigration will notice stamp and see that you have been in Schengen zone longer then 90 days.
You might get light touch approach or proper grilling and examination, depending on you lucky star. If you fail to prove you're PT resident, you could be banned from Schengen (worst case scenario).

Re: Stamping Passports
I had my passport stamped in error entering Faro. The excuse the passport officer gave was ‘sorry I thought the document you showed me was a Covid test’.....and then she cancelled the stamp entry. With so many Brits coming over when it was green...the officers are in auto pilot...Hence as soon as they start to grab the stamp...just yell and say ‘Im a resident!’ ..then they wake up!
