Hi, does anyone know a reliable guy that can do shutter/motor replacement in the tavira area? Thanks

I had problems finding a local repairman, so ended up fixing my own. The shutters are quite simple really and Leroy Merlin sell all the bits. There is a place by the road bridge near the market called Estores, which is Portuguese for shutters, but I never found anyone in.

There is a chap on facebook calls himself Handyman Tony. He can do all sorts of jobs. I am not trying to advertise for him, just seen his work.

Other end of the Algarve but this guy in Lagos specialises in electric shutter repairs - we've used him to replace a motor. The motor sits inside the shaft the shutter rolls up around. Whole shutter shaft had to come out to access the motor, and the shaft was replaced too. About 150 euro from memory. His son speaks good english and works with him.

Hi All. I have followed up on the replies and visited the guy by the bus station, towards the porta nova bridge in Tavira. He was not able to help himself, but suggested I went to see someone based at the bridge by the market (actually under the bridge). I went there. There is no sign, just what looked like a large garage and the doors were open so I went in. I asked the guy there if they could fix shutters and as I looked around I could see that the whole workshop come garage was just full of shutters and shutter parts. He has said he will be able to come this week, so after he has been I will provide an update, with his details. Thanks for helping out.
