Re: Ryanair flights
At least ATOL will get them home, and on the day they expected to return, it's those with holiday bookings that will suffer most, as well as all employees who are now out of a job. Mind you the pilots could always go to work for Ryanair, solves more than one problem.

Re: Ryanair flights
It is a dreadful time for all the workers employed by Monarch, who have lost their livelihood over night.

Re: Ryanair flights
The CAA had to make the announcement that they had been closed down at 4am as that was the one time when none of the Monarch planes were in the air, doing it when even one was flying would have created even more problems.

Re booked with ryanair. Much cheaper than the original Monarch flights, just have to wait and see if they also go under

Re: Ryanair flights
Ryanair go under? Now that would be big.
Anyway, there are suddenly a whole lot of pilots available for hire, and a lot of passengers looking for alternative flights, so I suspect everyone's least favorite airline will be just fine.

I should be doing Simon Calder's job then. When I went to bed I felt sure Monarch would be going under. I must be missing my way in life.
