Returning to Portugal
I am due to get my second jab in the next two weeks, and I would like to return asap after that.
However, I've seen a post from a couple of days ago that arrivals from the UK are banned.
Surely this cannot be for everyone - what are the current restrictions on arriving in Portugal.
And what arrangements would I have to make before catching a flight?
So far I've heard of:
passenger locator forms
covid tests
Is there anything else that you need before arriving in Portugal?

Re: Returning to Portugal
AFAIK ...You have to have Portuguese residents papers, and confirmation of your home address in Portugal.
Are you flying back in or by road?

Re: Returning to Portugal
You also need to quarantine for 14 days(subject to any change made on 15 April).
This is where I think there can be problems especially if you have been stuck away from PT for quite some time.
Unless you are in Lisbon,Algarve or large cities where supermarkets deliver how do you get enough food for 14 days like bread, milk, fruit ,veg, meat, fish.
Our local supermarket doesn't do click and collect let alone home delivery. We don't know any locals well enough to ask them to do a shop, nor would I feel comfortable asking them. We only have one close neighbour and he is elderly.
So what do you do?

Re: Returning to Portugal
Why do I see no mention of the uk S1 form on that page, other than if you are resident of Switzerland, leichenstein or Norway?
I thought that not only did that mean that the Uk pays for any Hospitalisation while under the SNS in Portugal, and that on return to UK short term or long term that you would be able to get treatment Free of charge as if resident of UK.
Added to that that if you want you can elect to be treated in hospital rather than for example Portugal (due to waiting time or because you feel happier in a UK Hospital.
Can anyone confirm if that is the case?
Otherwise I am struggling to see the point of an S1

Re: Returning to Portugal
Hi from the France forum!
If you wanted to drive and prefer not to take a ferry to Spain, you'd have to pass through France which is currently under nationwide confinement (no travelling for more than 30 km without an acceptable reason set out on the Attestation) and 19h00 curfew. These travel restrictions will be reviewed at the end of the month, depending on the Covid/hospital bed figures.

Never assume is my motto. Ricko will have had a Negative Test before they travel. Not everyone carries the virus!
It is their prerogative to return(Home?) if they can safely do so and have resident rights.. We intend to do the opposite journey shortly. I don't need to get "a grip" and will do the journey if safe to do so..... or the law tells me I can't .
