RETURNING
We are due to arrive in Lisbon by flight from London 14th June . Could anyone help with what documentation we need to show the authorities. We bought a villa in Algarve last October and applied for residency in March. We returned to the Uk end of March for the arrival of our new granddaughter but ended up getting stuck in the UK as flights cancelled. We IMI tax numbers , Utilities in our name and our Advogades is our Portugese financial Representative . Is there anyone who has done this journey back from UK so far that can help with what will greet us at Lisbon airport? much obliged

Re: RETURNING
Your residency certificate should be ok, airline will check it when check in. Once arrive at the airport it’s not too much hassle, you may be asked to register some details maybe not.

Re: RETURNING
Thank you for the info, once we arrive we will update the thread with our experience, fingers crossed our flight is not cancelled or we are trapped in a second UK lockdown. Cheers & Stay safe.

Dont understand, why would this create any issues at all?? Are Brits barred from entering Portugal?? Surely now that people are allowed on beaches, Lockdown has for all intents and purpose ended, yes I understand face masks distancing etc are all still there, but why would it help if you are a resident, than just owning a property??

I think the purpose is to eliminate “unnecessary travel”, well in the state of emergency period It’s definitely citizen and resident only, it may be lifted gradually.

Re: RETURNING
but surely the state of emergency in Portugal is now over?? Did the president not say that a week ago or so? Now it is a `State of Calamity` whatever that means.
I see nothing on any airline booking page that mentions either being resident or having an essential reason for going to Portugal from UK.
Am I missing something before I book to return in mid June?

It may change by June but I'd check before booking.

Yes it’s best to check before you fly. There was no clear policy regarding “tourist flight” after state of emergency. I think the flights from outside EU are still banned until mid June.

Re: RETURNING
Well it is now a fact that Ryanair are showing no flights at all from Stansted to Faro until the 23rd June. Jet2 show flights available on same route until 17th June.
As far as I can see none of these airlines are mentioning anything about being a resident, at this time.
Maybe it is question of hope rather than certainty even at this stage.
I will attempt to ask the question directly.

When I last checked Jet2 were flying FROM 17th June, rather than until then ?
I don't think one can expect the airlines to warn customers not to book unless X Y and Z . We have to find that out from whatever sources we can ( such as here, if anyone has yet come through on the basis of just being either a holidaymaker or a person owning a property [ if they make a distinction ] ).

Have a look at https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/int...1580226297.htm and select Portugal for the latest travel restrictions.

Re: RETURNING
Considering the Portuguese economy is highly dependant on air travel, I would have expected that airlines would be fully briefed at all times, I assume that they wont just say from tomorrow we can and will travel, there has to be some planning, I wouldn`t want to go on a plane that hadn`t been running for the previous 2 months !!
