Anyone advise?
My wife and I are trying to make enquiries about retirement to Portugal.
I have been trying to contact the Portuguese Consulate and Embassy in London asking about requirements for a retirement visa.
However, it's been a bit like getting blood out of a stone, they don't answer the phone and won't reply to my individual emails.
I have the following basic questions:
1) How much income we will need to qualify for a retirement visa?
2) Is there an offcial name for this type of visa?
3) How long will the application take?
4) How to apply after arriving in the Algarve on a tourist visa?
5) How much does the visa cost for each person?
6) What documentation is needed to apply?
If you have any information, then I thank you for making time to answer my queries.

Great, thanks for the pointer.
Very useful!
Although I'm still struggling to ascertain exactly how much income I need to satisfy their requirements for a Residency Visa.

Hi, and welcome to the forum from me
Exactly how much is difficult to determine beyond this (from information on the link provided by EU.flag above, under the heading "Necessary documentation")

Means of Subsistence
That is a bare minimum requirement and some of the advice floating around suggests having a healthy balance in a PT bank account is also advisable.

Thanks for getting back...
So for the first adult 760 euros, must be documented somewhere in a Portuguese Gov site, I'll keeo digging.
But if this figure is correct, then it's useful.
Cheers!

The 100%, 50%, 30% requirements are documented in Portaria 1563/2007.
