Pointless but friendly chat thread
 
It's about time we had a thread where we could express ourselves freely without fear of anyone accusing us of going "off thread":p:p:p.

Goa was great but it's grand to be back home:thumbsup::thumbsup:.

Welcome back Troggy old son. You've not missed much - just another 57 forum pages of rambling and smilies ;)

Glad you enjoyed the old colony; I fear it's heading South now big time. We keep abreast of our old stomping ground here and it's not good news, the Scarlett Keeling incident notwithstanding.

Yep, agree entirely. We went to the north for a week of our time there and Baga beach was a culture shock after the south. Then we went back to Cavelossim where the pace of life was far more relaxed.

We heard about the Scarlett case of course and the whole thing has its parallels with the Maddie story here: accusations that the local police are incompetent; articles in the British press written by authors who once visited Goa saying what a decadent place it is with the hippies and hash etc.

But, on the whole we still like it and will be going back again.

On the good side the OH finally overcame her fear of dentists and had her teeth done for the first time in 30 odd years. I was a bit put out when they charged her the same for a scale and polish as they did me. Hers took about and hour and a half while mine only took about 10 minutes:sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:.

Yes it is paul,unfortunately I have to close it soon,admin policy about long threads that take ages to load,Nomad is going to do a sequel,so that I can close it and we can carry on :thumbsup:

I think this comment is about the technical aspects of this forum and is therefore "off thread". It should be moved by the moderators to an appropriate place. :D

I am leaving for the Algarve in 3 weeks and I am having a PC put in the Algarve home so I can keep an eye on you guys from there.......:blink:

So is the move to Portugal post oficialy dead now? Can we do a move to Poatugal II?

Not being one who usually indulges in pointless but friendly chat threads, I should like to propose that this thread mount a coup d'etat against Nomad's 'Want to move to Portugal II' and I'm looking for someone to second the proposal.

When some of these threads get too large they become difficult for some people, especially with dial up, to open.
We have one in the Spanish forum that is on about the third re incarnation I think.

You can call it what you like basically, its still the same people enjoying each others company :)

What would you prefer?

I was invited to lunch yesterday and opted for pizza instead of bacalhau. Boy did I make a mistake, the bacalhau had been baked in the oven with potatoes and all the goodies. I'll know better next time.:blink:
