Thanks for that. It seems that lateral flow tests are accepted (but gov.uk have not updated their web site yet), so this is per BBC. Does anyone know cost from germanodesusa for LTF? And, in Tavira, is it a walk in test at germanodesusa with no booking?

I used Cruz Vermelha before but they do not seem to be doing it anymore as there are no slots to book on web. Or, maybe, they are also walk ins?

Any advice much appreciated.

Not sure it has to be PCR test.....I just heard the word test....considering you need a day 2 PCR test in uk (to find out variant) I would have thought that a LFT would be good enough for flying

BBC news says a lateral flow test is acceptable as an alternative to a PCR test.

You need to book an appointment.... be prepared to wait and be prepared to have the swab shoved through the back of your skull!

It looks like cruz vermelha do not offer tests anymore. So just germanodeSousa? I have seen people queuing there but will try and make appointment. Any know what the Later flow tests cost is? Thanks again

Not the greatest help to the OP, but when I travelled at the end of October, I found Germano de Sousa expensive for testing - but my local farmacia in Olhao (not part of a chain) did an LFT for €30, with both email and paper results. So may be worth trying any established farmacia first.....

Thanks Macliam. Your post was useful as I popped into the Farmacia in the Tavira plaza and they are doing tests for €30. Results, so they say, in 15 minutes with a certificate.

good - the other great thing was, no queue and almost personal treatment.

The actual test was OK too - more gentle than when | did it myself!

Which is your local farmacia in Olhão?
Has anyone tried https://verifymytravel.com/ based in Almancil who do an observed lateral flow test over Zoom video for €20 and send you a certificate if you have a negative result. You just have to provide your own CE approved test kit?

My local is Farmácia Avenida (also known as Farmácia Brito), Avenida da República 38-40, Olhão - Tel 289 702 317

Personally, I'd prefer the full service and the print-out in your hand for an extra few euro (plus no need to buy your own test kit)
