We had a flight booked to Faro early December, returning mid-December. Out flight still going, return flight cancelled. They could offer another return flight but we would be miles from our parked car. I can have a refund, I knowt I won't get that forever, I can have a voucher, or transfer at no cost. I suspect they'll just keep cancelling flights.

Would I be able to get a hire car at Faro and drop it off at Lisbon?

Done a quick google search and checked with Hertz, you can certainly do it with them. More local firms like the ones actually based in Faro probably would not but your big ones should have no problem picking up at one airport and leaving from another.
Google search - car rental portugal different drop off
Lots of information there - good luck with your trip!

Thanks I've found a hire company, now trying to book the flight from Lisbon back to the UK.

I've re-booked that, it's taken me all morning. I was going to go for a run, but now I feel drained and only good for a lie down in a dark room. It is so much easier driving!!!!

I bought some masks that were deemed to be best buy by Which? now I don't think they are FFP2which the airline said they must be. Any recent flyers buy any particular mask?

There seems to be mixture of masks on flights. Everything from disposable surgical masks to FFP2 masks, not to mention many ill fitting fabric masks. I wear a disposable surgical mask through the airport then switch to an FFP2 mask on the flight (hubby got a load from work for flying).

"It’s important that the masks we wear provide the best possible protection. That’s why we’re no longer allowing scarves, face visors or masks with valves.
The mask you wear should be FFP2 (or equivalent) certified, surgical or cloth."
