You have a portuguese surname, can you speak the lingo?

If you do not have enough money to purchase a property outright, I would suggest you rent first. If however you have the money but want to have a mortgage (say because the investment interest in the UK is better than what you have to pay for the mortgage loan) you might be able to use the investment as guarantee!? In this case you may need specialist advice... Alternativelly, once you have money coming in from work you have a better chance of taking a mortgage.

Si, eu falo portuguese tambem! Muito obrigado por o seu responsival. Thanks a million for your response. We won't have anyhting in the UK once we sell but will leave with the dosh from the sale. I was hoping not to work to get the mortgage but if so I guess we will have to at least until we get the mortgage. Cheers again Baltazarsam

Ah, and make sure you keep all utility bills from UK plus bank statements...
