Yes, it's the same thing but both certificates are being replaced. Details of the replacement programme for residence certificates can be found on the Brits in Portugal Facebook site.

I get the 'User Registration Error' message on the first page. No field is highlighted indicating where the error is. I'll wait a bit and try later.

I have tried many times, using different browsers and different computers, but my wife's Document Number and DOB are not recognised. For my registration I had to go to www.sef.pt for recognition and then all was well. The nice lady on the telephone helpline confirmed that that my wife's details were correct and could not understand the problem, suggesting that I email SEF and report it as a technical problem, which I did. I am still awaiting a response.

I notice that when the user error comes up the email address field is greyed-out, like the nationality one below it. (I wonder if it's being recognised from my previous attempt on the sef site, where the password is sent to a postal address...)

Do you have to put the UK passport number in as well - and if so, has your wife renewed her passport since the residence document was issued?

Anyone figured out where residence card will be collected/issued?
Most camara have SEF liaison section, so this is where scans are done. But will they issue cards there as well?

No, you only enter the Certificate Number on your residence document. I have a renewed passport since registering but not so for my wife. There is some sort of a glitch on the SEF site. Are we surprised?

Managed it last night and got both QR codes and printed them.also stored them on my phone. I wait to see what happens next

Guess what? SEF entered the wrong DOB for my wife on their system and that is why we could not register with them online. It took a second call to their telephone helpline to discover their mistake. So now I have managed to register her with the wrong DOB and will correct that at a later stage.
