New EU car rules WLTP as of Sept 2018
Hello, just became aware of the following and trying to do fast homework as will be buying car soon.....
From September 2018, WLTP (Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure) will be applied to all vehicles in the EU, including models already on the market.
Because we have a lot to bring down we are buying a car here in Germany and bringing it down in October 2018. We cannot do this sooner.
Not as free import (passed that window long ago). We are making sure we look at petrol cars with Euro 6 norm etc so our ISV stays at around 400 - 600 Euros.
BUT with this new WLTP ruling we are confused. If our CoC papers for car (it will be a 2 or 3 year old car) say 105/km co2 for example - will this be what is entered into the existing ISV calculator - OR will they test the car AND APPLY THEIR NEW HIGHER VALUE?
We are having problems understanding what or when the car papers will reflect the new values (newer models they say will be running the old NEDC and WLTF figures). Anybody know anything at all? Been trying to find out - we are using the existing calculator which we believe is the accurate one and the one being used https://aduaneiro.portaldasfinancas....muladorISV.jsp to enter our car details based on what we see from the car sales places. Will we be given a nasty surprise that a test result or other gets used and not what we have in hand?
Thanks a lot

Thanks - I guess was getting knotted too quickly. Nice link and info - it's just all the wording with new terminology from Sept 2018 :
new type of model
new car
new registration
.....that I was getting confused exactly what is happening with bringing in a second hand car of one or two years old and getting it registered.
Thanks again, will go through all with a fine toothcomb so don't miss something we should have known or was not clear.

Apparently it will only affect the ISV calculations in Jan. 2019. Source: https://impostosobreveiculos.info/no...sviuc-em-2018/

As far as I read things , old cars coming in will use the old system results , new cars first registered after the relevant dates will come under the new regs , or is that too much common sense applied?
