I don't buy roundup anymore, now I just pee on any invasive plants I want to get rid of.

Why don't they ban the GMO crops that are resistant to weedkiller? Problem goes away then and products can be used as intended.
Oh and all the other problems associated with modified crops. Strange how so many people now have problems with wheat which has been eaten for centuries.

Re: Monsanto & Glyphosate & U

As far as I know there are no GMO's permitted here.
Glyphosate is used to kill everything in the fields, then they're plowed and seeded with conventional crops.
It's also used to control weeds in city areas, gardens, and drives.

Personally, I have no problem with genetically modified food; as for the current "gluten free" fad, I firmly believe in gluttony.

Gluten free; a fad. That is exactly what it is.

Actually, Portugal is in that minority of EU countries that currently allows GM crops to be commercially grown, although there are strict controls in place.

Throughout the EU, the only crop so far authorised is one variety of maize.

Not the same wheat Mike. As with these GMO crops wheat itself has been bred to resist not only pests but nature itself. These huge farms are more often than not massive prairies where everything has been removed to allow for machines and larger crops. The result is wind tunnels . Wind tunnels that can flatten traditional wheat in a nano second. Thus mega strength wheat has been produced. This wheat has stalks so thick it can stand up to high winds and hail etc. Great for the farmer, disaster for your digestive tract. We simple don't have the enzymes to digest this stuff. When you add the massive amounts of yeast (chorley wood method) in modern baking .it's not bread as grandma knew it

Hmmm went out very early one morning with my dog last month, vaguely noticed that all the grass verges in our area were wet,and it hadn't rained.? Later that day I also noticed my dogs nose had come up in a series of bumps, that later became blisters. Following day dogs nose was up like a balloon. Went to the vet and he had no idea what it was but gave her antibiotic jab and zalve. Over the next week the nose began to peel, huge junks of skin.Lots of theories from a bite(no too general) too allergy? . By the time the whole nose had peeled I noticed that every grass verge for a width of at least one metre was brown and dying in our area. Obviously someone from the camera had been out before dawn and sprayed the whole of the village. Can I prove a connection? was it roundup? No and probable. We should worry.

This is just one off several world wide legal actions at the present being filed against Monsanto.

Nebraska Farmers Sue Monsanto Alleging Roundup Gave Them Cancer

And yet another problem over Agriculture Chemicals.

There is a very large area off Apple & Pear Trees which starts +/- 4 meters from my back door, when the owner is spraying this orchard, he is always wearing a complete coverall with a special mask to protect his face & lunges,.
BUT :- 20 years ago no body took any precautions , because they where ill-informed off the possible / probable circumstances.
The stench from some off the chemicals he uses is horrible.

This is what makes me so mad in the cancer debate and the appeals for funds to 'fight cancer'. I was lambasted early on when I first joined this forum for suggesting the terrible term? 'Alternative' (taken to mean quackery by many) but actually meaning 'take another approach and look elsewhere for the causes... rather than to Big Pharma for the end game. I was literally hounded off the debate. It is a taboo subject. So much money is involved. So many people brainwashed into believing that science is invincible

We KNOW why we are suffering epidemic levels of cancer cases. We just choose not to see or investigate and ban these dangerous chemicals. How many years did it take to remove the lethal DDT from the western world.? Why do we tolerate so many additives in our food and water ? We now know that the favourite approach i.e. -drugs from Big Pharma is actually killing us. These companies like BP and Monsanto are just too big and too powerful, too influential it seems to fight. and they work hand in glove .BP . who openly admit they are not in the business of making us well. They are in the business of making us dependent.I don't think Big Agri has any motto apart from make money
