Money to Euros....

Hello,
I have money in stirling to buy a house. Can anyone tell me the best and 'safest' way to transfer it to Euros? I am worried about the pound.
I have a Spanish bank account not a Portuguese one as I live in Spain at the moment. I am going to look at properties on the Silver Coast this weekend or next. I think there is a service where you can fix the exchange rate if you put in an offer and it is accepted? Is this 'safe'?
Thanks,
James.

Although you live in Spain but you want to transfer money into Euros, does this mean you want to move money from UK to your Spanish bank account?
If it was me I'd use a company like World First - http://www.worldfirst.com/
as a secure well established company to handle the transaction with no commission and a fast service. I've used them for 7 years and always been satisfied with the rate and service provided.
Best of Luck
