MEXICAN RESTAURANT

There is a restaurant being refurbished over the road from the PT shop in Tavira that is going to be Mexican.

I was looking for it today but couldn't find it. Opposite the PT shop is the Courthouse, is it in the parade opposite there?

Re: MEXICAN RESTAURANT

It used to be Cafe Paris with the cart outside on the corner. The actual restaurant is on 1st floor. Has paper on the windows at the moment.

Re: MEXICAN RESTAURANT

I see that it has the same owners as the Mexican in Faro, which can be very hit and miss. Hope the standard is more consistent in the Tavira one.

Must admit, we were all ready to go last night, but looking at their website - prices seemed high, and pictures uninspiring - so went for Brazilian in Santa Luzia instead

Bit disappointed the new Mexican didn't make some token promotion deal for the first 2-4 weeks, as there is so much choice and excellent restaurants in and around Tavira.

Will wait to see referrals.

Hi Big Ant - what's the name of the Brazilian Restaurant in Santa Luzia you went to? I haven't come across that one yet :)

Re: MEXICAN RESTAURANT

Sure. It is same owners and 'recipe' as the San Bras one which we enjoy.

Casa da Picanha
tel 281400936
well sign posted from the road Tavira thru Santa Luzia (straight on, not via waterfront), and it is located up behind the Post Office / water tower.

EUR 13.90 per head for unlimited selection of salad bar, and then rice / fine shredded cabbage and "too much" meat delivered to table !

House litre of red was EUR 5.50, but others available.

Good choice of other menu options.

Been 4 times now.....always enjoy ourselves. Closed on Mondays.
