Hello,
hopefully someone can help us out. Me, my husband and our two 11-month olds are looking for a house/villa for long term rent in Albufeira. At least 2 bedrooms, pref a garden, private and nice. Not too expensive. Any help is greatly appreciated!

If the house it amazing and the price is right we are interested of course, but because of working in Albufeira it can't be too far out of the way.. Where is it?

I work for a property management and rentals agency in Vilamoura. All of our properties are in Vilamoura, plus a potential new listing in Patã village - about 10 minutes drive from Albufeira. I may have availability for a villa in Vilamoura ( about 15-20 minutes drive from Albufeira). If you're interested please pm me with your max budget excluding bills.

Yes I check out those (and more) sites every day, also OLX, CustoJusto etc. But everybody seems to want outrageous rental prices (800 or -way- more) for the houses and live with two little babies isn't very cheap. So if anybody knows anything for a 'normal' price please let us know!

Ok, haven't found anything yet.. Decided to look for a house outside of Albufeira as well, as long as its within in 30 min drive and under 500 euros a month. Who can help us??

Hi. Depending upon what kind of standard is acceptable to you, but you're not likely to find many houses/villas for less than EUR 500 per month. The cheaper ones are normally either in not so good condition or way out in rural areas ( i.e. quite isolated). In the country areas, unless you have some Portuguese and/or are quite gregarious you may find it quite difficult.

Not being negative, just trying to provide a balanced and realistic view! :-)

Certainly in Vilamoura ( 20 minutes drive from Albufeira) you're not likely to find anything of reasonable standard/size for that budget.

Agreed, we pay €500 for a 2 bed apartment in the Eastern Algarve, which is cheaper than the central / western areas...

That said, the Algarve is jam packed with empty properties right now so you may find a bargain, but it is likely to be a "right place, right time" thing rather than something you see advertised.

Absolutely. Apart from ringing numbers that you see on properties, another way is checking the weekly classifieds paper call Algarve 1-2-3. You may find something in there, and the ads are all in English,German and Portuguese.

We found our current place in 123 - small 3 bed detached with plenty of outside space (no pool) 4km outside Albufeira for EUR 650 including water.

Oh, and don't be afraid to negotiate! :-)
