Lemon Trees ~ Good place to obtain in East Algarve ?

Lemon Trees for my yard :

Anyone know a good place to obtain good sized ( I can't wait that long for them to grow ) Lemon Trees ? Nearest to Altura / Vila Real de Sto António the better.

And have some idea what one would cost, say six to eight foot tall or taller already ? [ I have been told maybe €300 or more for a decently sized one which is still young enough to re plant ? ]

Any other advice on planting ( eg best kind of fertilizer or whatever ) ?

Also: Naturalgarve | Almancil | Algarve | Portugal

Some days Geojardim is better, other days Naturalgarve is better.

I was told recently a mature Lime Tree was around 100 euros (from Pina in Lagoa) so I would guess Lemon would be the same.

I bought 2 lemon trees from Geojardim a few years back and they were €245 each.

PS Just checked and it was 2019

And how big / how old were they at €245 ?

I don't have expertise but I am guessing that the older / taller they are the more risk they won't ' take ' ?

On the other hand I would like them as big / mature as possible to get the benefit now rather than have to wait for a couple of years ?

It's a proper tree.. You need a digger or a crane to manhandle it.

so approx how tall / large circumference ? Did they say how old it was ?

A CRANE ?? I'm guessing I need one younger than that.

Did it survive the transplanting ?

Yes, they survived the transplanting (despite being planted in a rather undesirable spot - too much clay and not enough windbreak) - the trunk is probably about 4 to 6 inches in diameter and they stand approximately 4 to 5 feet high, planted.

We planted them with a digger - start around the trunk and lowered into the holes. It's the most practical solution.

I've never transplanted a lemon tree, but I have many other kinds.
For a large tree like you're talking about, machinery is required. The tree with roots will be too heavy to handle safely by hand.

It's not rocket science, but for the best chance of success, should be done by someone with experience.
