I still don't quite get it. Why would PT support Spain? Is it the proximity to Spain compared to Italy?

Our local pub here in the UK was packed with people watching the match tonight, just because our pub is a footy pub and it's a big match.

I could not watch it on TV but surmise that Italy won as the men here are all shouting at their wives and kids and kicking their dogs.
