The BBC will never satisfy everyone but it is galaxies ahead of the quality of the UK tabloids, where the truth and facts are less important than bias and rhetoric.
Of course the BBC is better that the tabloid press. But that isn't saying much!

as pointed out earlier, Daily Politics is a great program for political interviews, and Andrew Neil is great at pointing out when the politician is repeating sound bites.

It's the lack world news that is my moan, and that lack of world view that leads to the lack of fact in the program Cavr mentioned initially

The all day BBC news channel certainly covers a wide spectrum of news than the 30min on the main channel.
BBC world news is certainly worth watching.
Available on my Portuguese cable provider.
Remember BBC 1 main news is for the UK and in theory not available to expats..

Not often we agree but I agree with you there.

So it's no longer a propaganda vehicle.
By PC you mean not being able to target minorities, then it has my full support.

The Portuguese lunchtime news in Portuguese covers Bre'it - the EU other main UK news - Sport and has a fair and unbiased view on whats happening in Portugal
It always covers all of the headlines
recent coverage includes shaming corrupt mps and bankers - past and present
covering in depth the demolition of houses in the Algarve islands
Covering the banking crisis here
etc etc
