Integrated Fridge
 

The fridge in our kitchen needs to be replaced. It is a larder fridge, rather than a fridge-freezer; and it fits under the worktop, with a door to match the other kitchen units. It was brought from the UK; and I have not managed to find anything similar for sale in Portugal or Spain, except for some extremely expensive models supplied by a high-end kitchen design outfit. I have also looked at buying one online, and having it shipped from the UK; but the best transport costs that I was quoted made it too expensive.

Does anyone know if it is possible to find a replacement in the Algarve (or within a reasonable distance); even if it second-hand. Alternatively, have you got details for a reliable transport company that would deliver a fridge from the UK.

A quick google of frigorífico intergrado shows ikea do them, they have what you are after for 399. Alternatively if you have a euronics(not sure about spelling) near by I am sure they will get them at a reasonable price.

Expanding on what Richard said; you buy online and get it delivered [hopefully without additional cost] to Direct transport's warehouse in the UK; then pick it up from their warehouse in the Algarve [if you're in the Algarve].
I find their charges reasonable, but ask them for a quote, they just need to know the size including the box. Probably about 70X70X110 cm.

Of course it would be better to buy locally if you can, since then you get warrenty service.

Or you could use a non-integrated fridge and fit the old door to it [if you're handy]. I've done that.

Or get the old one repaired. Not normally worthwhile, but could be in this case.

Thank you all for your advice.

We are on the Algarve, and it appears that the nearest Euronics store is close to Lisbon. I wonder if anyone has had goods delivered by them as far as the Algarve, and how much that might cost?

Similarly; will IKEA deliver from Lisbon or Seville; or would I need to organise transport?
