We have paid in full the IMI bill that came in May this year.

It is my understanding this covers the previous year, correct me if I am wrong.

We have now sold up, completed in September just gone. Should we expect an IMI bill next year for the portion of this year we still owned?

No, it's all charged to the new owner.

However our buyer insisted on a contribution towards the part year at the time of completion.
