Can anyone recommend a good and inexpensive house insurance company.

Expense is in the eye of the purse string holder, but you could try Tranquilidade, or IBEX, both have shops in Tavira. Approx €100-150 PA for a 2 bedroom property, depending on security arrangements and amount of cover, i.e. Earthquake or not.

When it come to insurance, you only find out about a company when a claim is made.
Has anyone here had a serious home insurance claim, and how did it go?
I had one in my previous country of residence, and I was happily surprised at the great response by my insurer there.
