Flights to UK
Just looking at Ryanair/Jet2 flights to UK and find no flights now to UK until 1st June for Ryanair and not until 24th June for Jet2 !!!
Of course not of interest if you dont want to go back, but frustrating as they keep putting flights back week after week.

Re: Flights to UK
I can see Easyjet flights between MAN and FAO in late May.
But first JET2 between NCL and FAO not till 24 June.
Ryanair does have 4 June NCL to FAO, albeit arriving a lot later than I like. Still.
Presumably some TAP flights are running ? Have not checked the website yet.

Or you could simply get a connecting flight, which is not very practical indeed, but if you really need to travel, this might be the only option.
Btw, just checked randomly on skyscanner - TAP do have connecting flights to LHR this week via LIS, KLM - via AMS, etc.

Re: Flights to UK
Thnks for your thoughts Sgt, had looked at alternatives, even from Faro there are flights to other EU destinations like Brussels and Eindhoven, but onward to UK is not easy on same day.
I am surprised as I had assumed that more flights would be available from UK, after mid May, with the lockdown easing continuing.
Although I suppose its more to do with taking Covid back into the UK and of course the tests still needed on arrival and quarantine.
Anyone have any idea if this strategy of double tests and 10 quarantine is gonna change over summer??

Re: Flights to UK
In my view there is some slight movement, at least within the EU, towards easing restrictions in case one has a vaccination certificate.
I don't think however that there would be a coordinated approach, so everything would depend on the situation in the individual country and on its priorities. Portugal may not do the same as Spain, or Greece, or Malta.
The UK is ahead with the vaccination, so it would be common sense to at least ease the restrictions on travel for people who are vaccinated. Whether that would be the case is anyone's guess.
Even if the UK strategy changes, I don't think it would happen before the end of the summer anyway.

TAP are flying daily direct from Lisbon to London. Ryanair and BA occasionally.
TAP are flying occasional direct flight from Faro to London, and daily connecting flights. Connections mostly in Lisbon or Amsterdam.
