Default Faro Airport

I just wondered if anyone had flown to Caro recently. What's it like there at the moment? Are there any forms to fill in and, if so, can they be filled in online or in advance. We are hoping to take a trip out next week and want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks.

Faro airport has no barriers to entry and no forms, it seems all the difficulties are in the UK - Algarve was expecting its usual 2.5m summer visitors this year but for reasons unknown the UK says its not safe to travel here. Anyone know the real reason?

Everything has been muted from the incorrect calculation of infections per 100.000. To Spain bribing the government . To the ongoing McCann Case... Finally I heard today that it was Portugals support of China ... Take your pick

Thanks.
Yes, you need to fill in form https://www.easyjet.com/ejcms/cache/...7C8C4CFD409BCD

Scroll down for the English version - leave on plane.

Before returning to UK; fill in online (Not until 48hours before flight time.) https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-c...fore-travel-uk. Print off or download to phone as you will be asked at immigration if you have filled it in. You still need to do this even if Portugal is added to the 'safe to travel list'.

From experience, Faro airport is very quiet and organised. Planes are very far from full. (Have only experienced Easyjet but am going with Ryanair on Saturday so we will see.)

There has been some chatter that the Government are going to add The Algarve to the safe list. Announcement due this Monday.

hettyb - please do tell us what it was like on your flights on Saturday. I have a trip planned with Ryanair in a couple of weeks and have been wondering how they are managing boarding, disembarkation, etc. Thanks and hope you have a good and safe trip.

So, Barcelona, Zaragoza and the capital Madrid have seen a surge in new infections and Spain rreported more than 900 new cases on Friday - yet they are still on the UK white-list. Portugal, with a maximum of 300 new daily cases over the last week in areas away from tourist hotspots, far far fewer than the daily average inthe UK, is not.

Something doesn't add up.

I know, it's absolutely ridiculous. We're having isolated lockdowns here, I'm surprised any country is allowing us Brits in.

That's right; from midnight tonight anyone arriving back from Spain has to quarantine for 14 days; what's the betting the government will now change it so that we can go to Portugal instead!!😟🤔

I would not be at all surprised if they say that people returning from Faro are exempt and from any other Portuguese airport are not. I will give up all hope for the UK if they do.
And of course if they do that you can expect flight prices from Faro to skyrocket over the next 2 weeks, with people from Spain and Lisbon/Porto moving flights (free in July and August with Ryanair)

We had the same experience. Flight also very empty - less than 40 people on the flight. Bristol to Faro, Saturday July the 18th.

Saturday 25th Ryanair Bristol to Faro

Bristol Airport a little busier than the previous week. Most people wearing masks but not quite all – no one enforcing including a lone police officer wandering round ignoring everyone. The airport bar had opened and a good few people were crowded into there.

We had no problem finding a quiet place to sit.

Plenty of space in the departure lounge to sit separately.

However, when boarding was called, everyone just stood up and queued as usual to go up the steps and down the plane. No Priority Boarding. Queue moved quickly as not many Ryanair passengers take a cabin bag big enough to go up in the lockers. (Easyjet have been boarding by row from the back).

Plane about a third full.

No one asked for Landing Forms and they would have been pretty useless as so many people changed their seats after takeoff.

Faro Airport very, very quiet. No one asked for our Landing Forms.

Generally felt safeish (Is that a word?) throughout.
