Dash Cam
 

I read the recent thread regarding the use of webcams and it got me thinking about my dash cam. I'm driving down in my UK car in a couple of weeks and it has dash cams fitted. Does anyone know definitively what the law is regarding the use of a dash cam in Portugal and enroute through Spain?

Don't know about Spain but understand dash cams are banned in Portugal. GPS showing location of speed traps also banned in France.

I understood that too - which I find strange
I'm sure I've seen lots of MAMIL's with helmet cams tho

SWMBO tells me that, according to her GNR source, the rules on dashcams are under review.... but as of now THIS seems to cover the issue.

She also said that they'll still likely nick you for obscuring part of the windscreen though........ :sneaky:

Dash cams are not illegal but if/how you use the footage could be.
