Default D7 passive income

Hello all I am just starting the D7 Process so any tips would be gladly received. I don’t know if his is a stupid question. I am planning a D7 application where the passive income requirements are monthly. I get an annual dividend so would that be a problem? Would they simply divide it by 12 or will it need to be in monthly increments?

It doesn't need to be paid monthly but you do need to show that it is a reliable source of income or funds. If you have any savings and investments that you could call upon if needed will also help as evidence. Lookiing at it from their point of view they are just trying to establish that you have your own financial means to support yourself and will not become a burden to them. Using that you can now gather all your evidence to show that you can and will be able to support yourself.

We were looking at the D7 visa for myself, my wife and 6 yr old. It would be based off my income and rental income however my wife would still want to work.
Does anyone know if she would be allowed to work?
I'm 43 and will still be working remotely for a UK company, being paid in £ into a UK bank account
I've read conflicting info where my Employed income can not be used towards the minimum income threshold and also that some sites state the D7 does give the ability to take employment in Portugal.

Any confirmation would be appreciated

Yes I've read that self employed income and / or dividends are ok but employed income is not but it doesn't affect me so I've not looked too hard. In the absence of any definitive responses on here I've a couple of suggestions.
1. Email the Consulate you'll be applying to and ask them. They are very busy at the moment but do respond eventually - give them as much info as possible
2. Join the British Expats in Portugal facebook group and ask on there. With 24k members there are bound to be some who've tried and can confirm success or otherwise.

Just noticed this newspaper article which may interest your wife. I will post it separately for others to view too.
