Currently domiciled in Portugal - looking to invest in Spain.
Bear with me.
I recently moved to Portugal and absolutely love it here. Currently renting a house here in the Center. I would , however, like to invest in buying a property in Spain (long story short: my sister wants to co-invest, but in Spain, not in Portugal). We would then occasionally visit the house in Spain for short breaks and rent out the property for the rest of the year. (we (girlfriend and me) would keep renting in Portugal) Long story short: Is there a way to get a loan (in Portugal?) to buy a house in Spain as I don't want to move my domicile to Spain, which I reckon would be the easiest / (only?) way to open a bankacc in Spain and get a loan there. |

Whenever I asked, banks would only lend against collateral in the country where the bank is.
Portuguese banks will lend to non-residents to buy Portuguese property if you make a big down payment [30% as I recall]. Maybe Spanish banks will too. You need to ask them. |
